The Discovery had an iron block/alloy head engine though, the Td5. I don’t think it’s particularly unreliable.
The picture is of a rhd model so it’s very unlikely to have the V8!

The answer being looked for is the Rover V8 - but the particular Discovery in the picture is unlikely to have had it! Td5 more likely.
